WE: What drew you to Winning Edge in the beginning?

Alystia: I love helping people. Winning Edge provided an opportunity to help young people learn about the wide array of opportunities available to them within the sports industry and gain the skills necessary to succeed. I wanted to be a part of that.

WE: How did you become part of the Advisory Committee?

Alystia: I joined the Advisory Committee by discussing my desire to contribute to the organization with Corinne. She mentioned the Advisory Committee and I decided this would be an awesome way to serve the organization.

WE: Why is diversity important to you?

Alystia: Diversity across an organization, in leadership and execution roles, provides opportunities for a variety of perspectives to be considered in creative and decision-making processes. Diversity is important to me because I believe that learning from various perspectives allows you to grow as an individual and increases the strength of an organization as a whole.

WE: What's the most meaningful or memorable part of your career?

Alystia: Working in college sports, the most memorable part of my career is every time I get to be a part of crowning a national champion (e.g. NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament). Knowing how hard the athletes work to get to the championship stage and how hard our crews work to showcase the championships, is always a memorable experience.

WE: What's one tip you'd give to a company considering Gigs for Game Changers?

Alystia: Any organization that offers an opportunity to a Game Changer will be impressed by the dedication and work-ethic that they will receive in return. Gigs for Game Changers is a chance to provide a diverse talent pool with the experiences necessary to be competitive in the job market, one opportunity at a time.
