Taya reimer

A native of Fishers, Indiana, Taya is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Taya majored in Broadcasting/Journalism while competing as a student-athlete on the Fighting Irish women’s basketball team. After Notre Dame, Taya started her Master’s degree at Michigan State University, while competing as a student-athlete for Spartans’ women’s basketball team. Academically, Taya has received recognition as a Big Ten Honor Roll Student. Athletically, Taya received recognition as an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention player. 

Taya has always had a fervent passion for basketball. Following her collegiate career, Taya tried out for the Los Angeles Sparks. Although she did not make the team, she did not stop pursuing what she loved. Instead, she became a professional basketball player overseas. She currently plays in Italy for Fixi Piramis Torino. Basketball has afforded Taya the opportunity to gain a true sense of belonging and purpose within herself. 

As an aspiring sports broadcaster, Taya is thankful for the profound impact sports have had on her life. She looks forward to using her platform to impact many lives. She is hoping that through the 2019 Winning Edge Game Changing Retreat, she can gain the tools necessary to do so.
